It is survive and advance time for the Washington girls’ soccer team, as they travel to face Clear Creek-Amana tonight in the first round of a class 2A regional game.
The Demons come into the contest with an 8-8 record while the Clippers closed the regular season 12-4. Trina Griffin’s 18 goals for Washington leads the Southeast Conference on the season and Olivia Pacha has taken care of the net with a league-leading 180 saves. The Demons look to bounce back from a penalty kick loss to Columbus on Monday. The Clippers have a strong offensive duo in Lauren Riggle and Carsyn Gallagher, as they have combined for 31 goals on the year.
The winner of tonight’s contest gets a meeting with Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday. The action gets underway at 6 p.m. at Clear Creek Amana High School.
