The Highland baseball team opened the new season on Thursday traveling to Louisa-Muscatine and the Huskies came home with a 10-5 victory.
The Falcons opened up the scoring with a run in the second only for the Huskies to tie it up in the third. The Highland bats awoke in the final three innings scoring three in the fifth, four in the sixth, and two in the seventh to pull away with the win.
Bill Laughlin was 3-for-4 with four runs scored while Dan Burton and Cael Yeggy each added a pair of RBI. Burton went 4 2/3 innings on the bump striking out seven and giving up one earned run. Brady Hahn picked up the win not allowing a hit in 1 1/3 inning of relief.
Highland opens the year 1-0 and they get back on the diamond Tuesday hosting Mediapolis.
