The Columbus girls’ soccer team starts up their playoff journey tonight when they meet Wapello in the first round of a class 1A regional in Davenport.

The Wildcats finished the regular season 6-6 including a 2-1 victory over Washington last week. Vanessa Mena has provided the offense with 10 goals on the season and Liana Sweezer has been stingy in goal with 145 saves. Wapello is 0-7 and has struggled offensively with only three goals on the year. AnnMarie Freshwater has 75 saves in the net.

The postseason gets underway at 5 p.m. this evening at Davenport Assumption High School.
