There is an enhanced to moderate risk of severe thunderstorms in the KCII-listening area today. The National Weather Service advises the likely timing of storms to be between 4 and 11 p.m. with potential impacts including damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes, frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, and flash flooding. The enhanced risk area includes all of Washington, Keokuk, Jefferson, Henry, and Louisa Counties, along with the southern halves of Johnson and Iowa Counties. Warm air may continue to support a cluster of storms moving eastward toward the Mississippi River.
The NWS advises that if you plan to be outdoors, then stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
