Despite tough weather conditions in Ames, Mid-Prairie’s Abbi Patterson put together a strong day one at the class 2A girls state golf tournament.

Through 17 holes in her first round Patterson is 10 over par and in eighth place. Play was suspended on Tuesday’s day one due to weather so competitors will finish their first round today and play their full 18 for day two Wednesday as scheduled.
