Work is underway on Vine Avenue, or Old 218, in Washington County. Construction began Monday on one-mile of Vine Avenue south of Highway 92 near Ainsworth. The maintenance patching project is expected to be done in two weeks, weather permitting. The repairs to the surface of the road is being done by LL Pelling Company. According to the Washington County Communications Office, the project will improve the pavement and this is a “short-term repair” until enough funds are available for a full project to provide a long-term solution. Traffic will have reduced travel through the work zone. And drivers are encouraged to use caution in the construction zone.
