America’s Farmers Grow Communities has presented a grant to the Washington YMCA project. Local farmer Rachel Berdo directed $2,500 to YMCA of Washington County through America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Bayer Fund. America’s Farmers Grow Communities is celebrating its 10th year of supporting nonprofit organizations that help strengthen rural communities. It has awarded more than $33 million to over 8,000 nonprofits in the last decade. The new YMCA on 5th Street will be $9.5 million with nearly $5 million in pledges committed and $4 million in grants so far.
