With a focus on improving the economy, especially manufacturing, Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan is running for the Democratic nomination for president. Ryan met with about 10 people in Washington Saturday evening to discuss concerns and plans if elected. He explained that by first improving the economy, other improvements can be made across the country in a similar fashion as Roosevelt’s New Deal, “To me it’s about getting out of this survival mode that we’re in right now, and you know, and getting into thriving mode again as a country. Where we can really cut the middle class in on the deal, bring some manufacturing back around electric vehicles, around solar, around wind. Right now we’re getting our clock cleaned with China. China dominates 40-50% of the electric vehicle market, they dominate about 60% of the solar panel market, they’re killing us on 5G, fifth generation internet. So we’ve got a long way to go and a big part of this is that the federal government is broken.”
He also discussed promoting regenerative farming, securing the election system, improving mental health care, and ultimately bringing people together for a stronger America. Ryan is the U.S. Representative from Ohio’s 13th congressional district.
