Three civil lawsuits have been filed against the Living Word Fellowship in California, who used to oversee the Shiloh Church.
Kalona City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says that the city was notified of the lawsuits being filed against the organization. Late last year, Shiloh formally ended their partnership with the Living Word Fellowship amid sexual misconduct claims. In March, the City of Kalona and the Shiloh Church began discussions regarding annexation.
Schlabaugh says the city has been put on notice, and that annexation conversations will continue, “We’ll continue with discussions, not that this changes anything at this particular time, but it’s going to require some legal assistance with a couple of different entities to clarify and provide direction on how to proceed.”
Schlabaugh says he was notified by Irwin Zalkin, a San Diego attorney representing the plaintiffs in the case.
