It was a long night of softball in Winfield on Wednesday night, as the Wolves dropped a marathon game against Wapello 3-2 in 13 innings.

The Wolves held a 2-0 lead heading into the seventh when the Arrows found some late game magic to send the game into extras. That 2-2 deadlock held true until Wapello managed to scratch a run across the board in the 13thto put the game to rest. Madie Anderson went the distance in the circle giving up two earned runs on six hits. The Wolves offense could only muster up five hits led by Emma Haines going 2-for-5 with both RBI.

WMU is 10-5 and look to rebound tonight hosting Pekin.
