The busy week for the Iowa Mennonite baseball and softball teams wraps up Friday when they host Central Lee for a Superconference crossover. The IMS baseball team is coming off of a Thursday sweep of rivla Lone Tree by 16-1 and 12- 2 scores. IMS is hitting .298 as a team, led by Jacob Boller and his .346 average. Their team ERA is at 2.90 with Eli Ours and Blake Bontrager posting combined 4-0 records and an ERA under one.
Central Lee is 8-1 on the year, winners of six in a row, including a 14-3 win over New London last night. The Hawks are hitting .395 as a team, led by Evan Pohren with a .600 average. Their team ERA is 1.52 with Jadon Hawk posting a 2-0 record and 0.70 ERA. These two teams met a year ago with Central Lee taking an 11-0 win.
The IMS softball team is 0-11 on the year as they were swept by rival Lone Tree on Thursday 16-4 and 10-0. On the season, IMS is batting .207 as a team with Suzanna Yoder best at .406. In the circle they have a team ERA of 9.43, led by Leah Bontrager, who in 55 innings, has an 0-11 record and 9.36 ERA.
Central Lee enters play with an overall record of 1-11. They were beaten by Danville last time out 6-5. For the year the Hawks are hitting .146 as a team, led by Andrea Brenner at .281. In the circle, Central Lee has a team ERA of 3.55, led by Meghan Hopp with an 0-2 record in 18 innings and a 2.29 ERA. These two teams met a year ago with Central Lee taking a 9-7 win.
