It was a double-digit crazy game in Columbus on Thursday, as the Wildcat softball team found a way to beat Mediapolis 12-11.
Columbus got out to an early 4-1 lead in the second only to have the bulldogs tie it in the third. It looked like the Wildcats were going to pull away putting up a six spot in the fifth, but Mediapolis had the answer in the sixth and seventh to send the game to extras. After plating a run in the top of the eighth, this time it was the Wildcats with the answer and scoring twice for the walk-off win. Emma Milder picked up the win in the circle going 5 2/3 innings giving up six runs on 10 hits and striking out three. The sophomore was also 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and five stolen bases. Julie Sosa added a pair of hits and three runs knocked in.
Columbus improves to 3-11 and host Pekin on Monday.
