Despite producing one hit offensively and striking out 17 times, the Highland baseball team was on the plus side of the one stat that matters and that’s being in the win column defeating Mediapolis 4-2 on Monday night.
The Huskies scored all four runs in the first and that was all Dan Burton needed on the hill, as he scattered six hits in the complete game giving up just one earned run and striking out nine. Brody Burton had the one knock with a double and run scored. Dan Burton had a pair of walks and Cael Yeggy had the lone RBI.
The Huskies were back on the diamond last night and fell to Pekin 4-2 to push their record to 7-6. They get back at it today facing off with Van Buren.
