For the first time since the spring of 2015, Riverside will have a city administrator.

During Monday’s meeting, the Riverside City Council approved the employee agreement with Christine Yancey. The search for a city administrator began earlier this year. The search hit a speed bump when a candidate the city made an offer to declined the position. In March, the city ramped up it’s efforts and hired Hinson Consulting of Washington to aid in their search. With the help of Hinson Consulting, the city received around 30 applicants. Four of those were brought in for interviews earlier this month. After a pair of special meetings, the council decided  to offer the position to Yancey. The agreement was finalized Monday. The council approved the agreement 4-1 with Tom Sexton opposing as he believes the position isn’t necessary. Yancey will start July 1st.
