A three-mile portion of Palm Avenue south of Washington will be improved starting Monday. The Washington County Engineer’s Office announced that during the work the road will be closed from Highway 92 to 280th Street. The work includes salvaging the existing rock surface, regrading the road to restore the cross section, and improving drainage. A new rock surface will be placed on the road. DeLong Construction of Washington was awarded the project for $286,499.50. The improvements to Palm Avenue are part of the Washington County Five-Year Road Improvement Plan.
