Relay for Life is returning to Washington this Saturday. Luminaries will be lit in honor of those diagnosed with cancer, have survived cancer, or have lost their lives to the disease. The opening ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Washington High School. There will also be a survivor and caregiver walk, the luminaria ceremony, a live auction, a dessert auction, and a closing ceremony. Seventeen teams are registered and have raised over $18,000 so far. The event is open to the public to help support those in our community who have had cancer or a loved one with cancer. Join Relay for Life to celebrate, remember, and fight back.
*UPDATE: Due to the rain in the weather forecast, the Relay For Life committee has chosen to move relay into the gymnasium and commons area at Washington High School. The time for relay has also changed, it will start at 2:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. The auction time will be 3-5:30 p.m. The Survivor ceremony will start at 6:15 p.m., and the Fight back ceremony will be at 8:30 p.m.
