A former Fairfield Police officer has pleaded guilty to felony burglary.

In February, 31-year-old Ryan Mills was charged with burglary in the second degree, a class C felony. Mills originally pleaded not-guilty in March. A jury trial was set to begin June 4th, but was taken off the books as Mills wanted to change his plea. Friday morning Mills changed his plea to guilty. According to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, Mills was seen stealing narcotics from a veterinary clinic in Fairfield. The case was transferred to Washington County to avoid any possible conflicts. Sentencing is set for August 23rd.
