A tough start doomed the Highland baseball team on Monday night when they fell to non-conference opponent Durant 9-3.
The Huskies dug themselves an early 5-0 deficit in the first two innings and could never get closer than four runs the rest of the way. The Huskies had nine hits led by Bill Laughlin going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Jordan Sosa and Jacob Leonard also had two knocks on the evening. Chase Schultz took the loss on the hill throwing five innings giving up four earned runs and 11 hits.
Highland drops to 10-9 and they deal with Sigourney tonight.
