The Iowa Mennonite School softball team is on the road Monday with their season on the line as they open the class 1A regional tournament at Brooklyn against the BGM Bears. IMS comes into the game with an overall record of 3-19. They were winners their last time out, beating Columbus by an 11-3 score. On the season, IMS is hitting .219 as a team, led by Rubye Ney with a .357 average. In the circle, IMS has a team ERA of 8.36, led by Leah Bontrager with a 3-18 record in 107 innings of work and a 7.85 ERA. IMS is looking for their first playoff win since 2016.
BGM comes into the game with an overall record of 11-13. In their last game they were beaten by New London 5-0. For the season, the Bears are hitting .305 as a team, led by Kelsey Lint with a .408 average. The Bears have a team ERA of 4.21, led by Lint with a 7-6 record in 78 innings and a 2.38 ERA.
