Playoff softball is officially here in Iowa and an area rivalry will take place in Sigourney tonight, as the Savages welcome Keota in a class 1A region 5 game.
The Savages come into the contest 13-11 on the season and they are looking to rebound from a 4-2 defeat against Highland on Tuesday. Jordan VanEe has posted a 3.10 ERA in the circle in 135 1/3 innings of work. Keota is 0-17 but gave Moulton-Udell all they could handle on Friday falling 21-17. Makenzie Jackson leads the Eagle offense with a .361 batting average. Sigourney won both meetings between these two teams in the regular season 13-2 and 13-0.
The winner of tonight’s game has a date with either Montezuma or Iowa Valley on Wednesday. All of the action gets underway at 7 p.m. this evening in Sigourney.
