Following the spring’s heavy rains, flooding, and late planting, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is extending some deadlines. Iowa’s farmers now have until July 22nd to file crop acreage reports for spring-seeded crops to USDA’s Farm Service Agency county offices and federal crop insurance agents. These reports are important to maintain eligibility for USDA conservation, disaster assistance, safety net, crop insurance, and farm loan programs. A crop acreage report documents all crops and their intended uses. Producers are encouraged to set up appointments with their FSA offices before the July 22nd deadline.
