The Keota Eagle baseball team saw their 2019 season come to a close Saturday on the campus of Iowa Mennonite School as they were eliminated from the 1A district tournament by Pekin 4-2. The Panthers got a pair of runs in the first against Keota starter Austin Waterhouse. Pekin would get another in the fourth and score an insurance run in the top of the seventh. Keota had a hard time getting the offense going, held scoreless until an Austin Waterhouse sac fly in the sixth that scored Tyler Waterhouse, the Eagles would have to wait until the seventh for their first hit, a double from Justin Moeller. Moller came home on a Panther error and a balk to pull the Eagles within 4-2 but the Panthers executed a pickoff and recorded a strike out to end the game. The Eagles managed two hits against Pekin pitching in the game. Austin Waterhouse took the loss on the mound working three innings. Keota ends their season at 15-6.
