Lisbon (22-12) came into Saturday’s first round district game as one of the hottest team’s in the state winning 16 of their last 18 regular season ball games. Those numbers meant nothing to Lone Tree though, as they took care of business in a 3-1 pitcher’s duel.

Keegan Edwards and Avery Knock teamed up on the bump to deliver seven innings of one run ball and gave up just four hits. Edwards started and got credited with the win in four innings while Knock sealed the deal with a nine-out save. As if his work as a pitcher wasn’t enough, the senior Knock also brought in all three Lion runs finishing 1-for-2 with a triple and walk. Edwards and Tim Mills recorded the other hits for the Lions.

Lone Tree improves to 12-11 and they advance to a class 1A district semifinal tomorrow against Midland at Calamus-Wheatland.
