The final KCII area softball team still alive in the playoffs saw their season come to a close on Friday, as Sigourney fell to North Mahaska 6-1 in a class 1A regional semifinal game.
The Warhawks got on the board with two runs in the first, but the Savages cut the lead in half in the third inning with a solo home run from Megan Stuhr. That was all the offense Sigourney would generate, as North Mahaska got that run back in the bottom half and added three late for the victory. Dani Richards was the only other Savage player to record a hit. Jordan VanEe took the loss in the circle going six innings giving up four earned runs on six hits.
The Savages closed the year at 18-14 and they lose VanEe and Savhannah White to graduation.
