Mid-Prairie junior Brad Tornow has put together one of the best all-around seasons in Golden Hawk baseball history. On the mound, Tornow is second in the River Valley Conference with a 0.93 ERA among those who have thrown at least 40 innings. That mark is 10th best in the state among those with the same workload. He is also second in strikeouts with 82 on the year, ninth most in class 2A. He has a perfect 6-0 record.
At the plate, Tornow is hitting .438, best on the team, fourth best in the conference. His 42 total hits lead the league, as do his four triples, which are fourth most in the state. Mid-Prairie will next be in action Saturday when they host the West Branch Bears in a district championship game. You can hear all of the action live on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com, beginning with the Washington HyVee pregame show at 6:30 and first pitch at 7p.m.
