Two people were arrested after a vehicle pursuit in Washington. Late Friday night at 11:25 p.m. a sheriff’s deputy notified dispatch of a pursuit at South Second Avenue and East Washington Street. The vehicle stopped after hitting a picnic table at the corner of South 4th Avenue near East Monroe Street. Three Washington Police Officers and three additional sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene. Authorities arrested the driver, 36-year-old Jermaine Isaac Adams of Washington. He was charged with driving while barred sixth time, eluding, interference with official acts, driving without headlights, and seven stop sign violations. They also arrested 21-year-old Ernest Lee Shaw of Washington for possession of a controlled substance marijuana first offense. The pair was taken to the Washington County Jail.
