Members of the community are invited to meet the new manager at the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Port Louisa NWR staff are putting together a Meet the Manager event for the public to chat with the new manager. Marcie Kapsch joined Port Louisa one month ago from South Carolina. Kapsch tells KCII News she believes it’s important to be able to work hand-in-hand with the community, “I think it’s really important, especially working on a national wildlife refuge. I always like to hear different perspectives, different points of views, different things that may have worked on private land that maybe we haven’t considered. I love to hear different ideas. Based on the fact that we’re the federal government, sometimes we can adapt those ideas, and sometimes, based on certain policies, we can’t. But, I always just love hearing new perspectives and seeing how we can align those together moving forward.”

The event will be from 5-7 p.m. August 5th at the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge.
