The Winfield-Mt. Union softball team took a big leap in 2019 improving by seven wins from last season and as a result is well represented on the Southeast Iowa Super Conference All Conference teams.
To no surprise, Madie Anderson was selected to the first team. The sophomore was a workhorse for the Wolves racking up 163 1/3 innings in the circle that led the north division and her 1.84 ERA was fourth. Anna Anderson was selected to the second team as a catcher. The eighth grader led the team with 22 RBI and was second with a .293 batting average. Keetyn Townsley and Molly Miller were named honorable mention. Townsley had a team-high .349 batting average and Miller knocked in 14 runs including two home runs.
WMU finished the season with an 18-9 record.
