The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team had a lineup full of tough outs. No stat signified that fact better than their ability to put the ball in play. IMS finished the season striking out just 118 times, ninth fewest in class 1A. That works out to be fewer than six times per game as a team. IMS had five players who finished with 10 strikeouts or fewer across 30 or more at bats, led by Trevor Leyden, who “K’d” just four times all season. Others include, Blake Bontrager seven, Jacob Boller eight, Noah Miller nine and Eli Ours 10. IMS finished the year hitting .302 as a team with a 13-8 overall record.
