Registration commences this week for St. James Catholic Elementary School in Washington. The school provides classes for preschool through fifth grade students. Principal Beth McBride said all students are welcome, “We have 29% of our students are not members of the Catholic church. And we celebrate a wide variety of diversity here, and that’s something that makes our school very proud of the fact that we have diversity whether it’s ethnicity or faith-based, we celebrate a lot of different lifestyles and personalities here.”

Families may register online or they can stop by the school Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. It is a time for parents to sign up their children for the school year, meet with staff, sign release forms, and meet with the business manager for scholarship opportunities for tuition expenses. The registration time also allows parents a time to sign up for volunteering opportunities throughout the school year.
