A car crash along Highway 218 led to the arrest of a Mt. Pleasant man Sunday.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 5:21 a.m. Sunday they received a 911 call for a vehicle sitting in the roadway on Highway 218 near Olds. Once the caller passed the vehicle, the sitting car started driving at a high rate of speed, almost hitting the caller as he passed. While on the phone with law enforcement, the caller told dispatch they saw the vehicle crash into the median on Highway 218 near 185th Street. Once law enforcement arrived on the scene, they were able to identify the driver as 25-year-old Todd Jacob Riley of Mt. Pleasant. There were no injuries and Riley declined medical treatment. After investigating, Riley was charged with operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, and using an electronic communication device. Riley was taken to the Henry County Jail.
