The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball program made progress during the 2018-19 season. The Hawks finished with a 10-11 overall record, the first time they have had double digit wins since an 11-12 season in 2013-14. Mid-Prairie’s season was highlighted by a season sweep of West Liberty and Wilton, a rivalry win over Washington and a buzzer beater against Bellevue that saw Dominic Pickard cap a Golden Hawk comeback with a tip-in to put Tim Grady Gymnasium up for grabs.
Mid-Prairie was fourth in the state with a 38% three point percentage. Pickard led the Hawks going 26 of 57 from beyond the arc for a 46% clip. Cale Robertson knocked down a team best 45 shots from deep. Brad Tornow led the River Valley Conference with 110 assists. Tom Butters was second in the league with 256 rebounds and third with 22 blocked shots. The Golden Hawks had a total of three players selected to the all-conference team.
