This week will be the first look at the upcoming fall sports season at Washington High School and numbers are high across the board.
The Demon football team has 68 players coming out in 9th – 12th grade, volleyball has 34, cross-country has 37, and band has 77 members. The football team will have their first public appearance on Friday night in a scrimmage against Muscatine and the first game with be August 30th in Marion. The volleyball squad will open the year August 29th at Mid-Prairie and the first cross-country meet is scheduled for September 3rd at Hillcrest Academy.
