The founder of a local organization that works to help veterans has died following a motorcycle wreck. Chuck Geertz was the founder and president of Healing at English River Outfitters. He died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle wreck.

HERO was formed in 2008 and provides outdoor recreational activities for military veterans. In July, ground was broken for a new veteran’s lodge at HERO in rural Washington. Geertz had been in Cripple Creek, Colorado for a veterans event recently.
