After a rare miss of the postseason last year, the Sigourney-Keota football team is hungry and looks to right the ship for the 2019 season.
The Cobras started 5-2 last year, but stumbled in their last two games to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Head Coach Jared Jensen told KCII Sports that fueled his team in the offseason. “We have a really committed team and this feels like a special group. They are not going to be satisfied with anything less than a district title and deep postseason run so the goals are set high with this team.”
In their famous single wing offense, JD Stout returns under center after running for 1,150 yards and throwing for 256 to lead the team with 22 touchdowns. Sam Sieren brings back 732 rushing yards and Brady Duwa with 378 yards of total offense. Trent Hendricks will anchor the defense after 56 tackles and one interception in 2018.
The Cobras face off in a scrimmage with Davis County on Friday.
