The Iowa Court of Appeals has affirmed a district court decision denying a petition from Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge. The Iowa Court of Appeals opinion in FBMB vs. Washington County Board of Supervisors was published this week. The FBMB appealed the district court’s ruling on its petition for writ of certiorari regarding the board of supervisors vacating a portion of a road near Bunker Mill Bridge. Last year, district courts denied a petition claiming the supervisors vacated a portion of road against procedure.

The bridge is owned by FBMB. It was sold for $1 by the county after it was the victim of arson in 2013. The Court of Appeals decision is listed on the agenda of Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting.
