The Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team will start up their 2019 campaign on Thursday when they host a triangular.

Keokuk and Van Buren will make the trek to Winfield to face the Wolves. Plenty of talent returns for WMU and it starts with kill leader Jenna Buffington. The junior registered 261 kills a season ago. Kyndal Townsley is back from a year with 363 digs, Anna Hudson with 43 blocks, and setter Kayla Edwards with 505 assists. Head Coach Dave Pieart tells KCII Sports there are only a few holes to fill. “We used a nine person rotation last year and seven of those are coming back. Four of those seven were all-conference including three first teamers. We have two middle blockers coming back, we have our two outside hitters, libero, setter, and a serving specialist.”

The action will start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Winfield.
