Washington County roads will undergo pavement patching. The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a contract for pavement patching. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained where the repairs will be made, “Tuesday bids were due to the Iowa DOT for a pavement patching project on various routes throughout Washington County, specifically the Wellman Road, the Riverside Road, the Wayland Road, and G36. We had three bids come in.” The lowest bid was $264,898.62 from Midwest Contractors, Inc. of Cedar Falls. The highest bid was for nearly $367,000. The contract was awarded to Midwest Contractors, Inc. The estimate was about $14,000 under the approved contract. The late start day for the work is next May.
