A nearly two hour bus ride did not phase the Columbus Community football team last night, as they nabbed their first win of the season with a 20-12 victory over GMG, Garwin.

Will Schwab carried the load offensively finishing with 31 rushes for 135 yards and one touchdown. Bawi UK settled in at quarterback and finished six of 11 for 122 yards and two scores to Tucker Bright and Jonathan Gonzales. Gonzales recorded three receptions for 90 yards. The defense was stout all-night with Bright finishing with six tackles including four for a loss and Jorge Miranda had a fumble recovery.

The Wildcats move to 1-2 and they seek a winning streak Friday when they travel to Louisa-Muscatine.
