The Pekin Panthers left Hillcrest Union in Kalona with a four set win over the Hillcrest Academy Ravens on Tuesday night. The Panthers took the match by scores of 25-10, 25-17, 21-25 and 25-9. Danae McGaffey led the Ravens with 10 kills. Yani Gutierrez had 12 assists and also led the Hillcrest defense with 11 digs. After the match, Hillcrest head coach Tanna Boshart talked about the set two win. “I thought we were able to keep the pressure on Pekin. That’s something we had talked about. Keeping the ball in play on our attacks, serving aggressive and staying in volleys long enough to allow them to make a mistake.”
With the loss, the Ravens are now 0-14 on the season. They travel to Wapello Thursday.
