The Mid-Prairie volleyball team is back on the court Thursday when they host the Wilton Beavers. The Golden Hawks are 4-3 on the season. Tuesday they were beaten at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman by No. 1 in class 3A Tipton in straight sets. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Cassidy Hershberger with 27 kills on the season. Landry Pacha has the team lead and is seventh in the River Valley Conference with 85 assists. Amber Swart leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 31 digs.
Wilton comes into the match unbeaten on the year at 15-0. The Beavers are currently ranked No. 6 in class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. In their last action Wilton won their home tournament Saturday, taking matches against Midland, Mount Pleasant, Hillcrest Academy, Winfield-Mt. Union and West Liberty. On the season the Beavers are led by Ella Caffery with 116 kills, third most in the River Valley Conference. Caffery also has the team lead with 148 assists, fifth most in the RVC. Mallory Lange leads the Wilton defense with 100 digs, fourth in the conference. These two teams met once a year ago with the Beavers getting the sweep. Action begins tonight at 7:15 at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
