The Columbus Wildcat football team is back at home Friday when the North Cedar Knights come calling. The Wildcats are 1-3 on the year after last week’s 54-8 loss in Letts against rival Louisa-Muscatine. In that game Mason Hodges led the Wildcat offense with 29 carries for 77 yards. Bawi UK leads the Wildcat offense at 15 of 37 through the air for 252 yards, two touchdowns and seven interceptions. His favorite targets Jonathan Gonzales and Tucker Bright, each with six catches for a total of 209 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Will Schwab has 73 carries for 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bright leads the Wildcat defense with 20 and a half tackles, including four for loss and a sack.

North Cedar comes into the game with a 2-1 record, having beaten Camanche last Friday 21-7 behind 198 yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Ethan Sahr and 119 yards on the ground from Brody Hawtrey. For the season the Knights are led by Sahr under center at 32 of 59 for 546 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. His favorite target is Kael Unruh with nine catches for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hawtrey leads the way on the ground with 76 attempts for 316 yards and two scores. Tyler Thurston leads the Knights defense with 19 tackles, two for loss. Last year these two teams met with North Cedar getting the 53-24 win. Action starts tonight at 7p.m. at Columbus High School.
