The non-district portion of the season concludes tonight for Washington when they make a trip to face the Comets of West Liberty.

The Demon offense continued to roll last week in a 38-31 win over Iowa City Liberty to move to 3-0 on the season. They have compiled 1,373 yards of total offense in three games that ranks second in class 3A. Luke Turner and Wyatt Stout have combined for 590 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns. West Liberty is riding high after a 22-21 victory against Anamosa last week to improve to 1-2 on the season. Will Esmoil provides speed in the backfield with 320 yards and three scores. Demon head coach James Harris tells KCII Sports about the challenge that is ahead. “They are a really well coached team and Coach Iske is good about running what his players can do. I’m sure they will have a good game plan when they play us.”

Last year when these two teams met up Washington won a 34-27 thriller in overtime. Week four action gets underway at 7 p.m. tonight in West Liberty. Listen to the game on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 6:30 p.m. Coverage of Southeast Iowa football begins at 5:30 p.m. with the KCII Football Friday Preview Show.
