Last Friday night Washington football fans saw the Demons stay unbeaten by defeating West Liberty 42-20 on the road, but after a self reported incident the Demons have been forced to forfeit the contest.
During the game, coaches inadvertently played an ineligible player for two snaps. According to a Washington Community Schools press release, when coaches realized the error they called a timeout and removed the player. Washington self-reported the incident and the state declared the outcome of the game. The official score goes down as a 2-0 defeat.
After the change the Demons drop to 3-1 on the season and they host Keokuk for homecoming on Friday.
