A pair of KCII area volleyball teams travel to Burlington Notre Dame Thursday for the opening round of the 2019 Southeast Iowa Superconference volleyball tournament. The Hillcrest Academy Ravens come into the night with an overall record of 0-15 on the year. Last time out they were beaten by Wapello a week ago in straight sets. On the season, the Ravens are led by Danae McGaffey with 34 kills. Yani Gutierrez paces the Ravens with 89 assists, eighth in the Superconference. Norah Yoder and Gutierrez lead the Hillcrest defense with 61 digs.

Also at Notre Dame tonight are the Columbus Wildcats. They come into action with an overall record of 3-16. The Wildcats were last on the floor Saturday at the Keokuk tournament where they dropped matches in straight sets to Central Lee, New London and Knoxville. Olivia Carrier leads the way for Columbus with 55 kills. Taylor Howell has 170 assists, best on the team and fifth in the Superconference. Emma Milder leads the Wildcat defense with 100 digs, fourth in the Superconference. Joining the Ravens and Wildcats at Notre Dame will be No. 4 Van Buren, Wapello and the Nikes.
