9-26-forecast

A wet end to the week is expected with heavy rain. The National Weather Service advises heavy rain in eastern Iowa into Friday night. Some portions of southeastern Iowa are expected to receive over two inches of rain. As a cold front interacts with an abundance of moisture, showers and thunderstorms are possible.

Potential impacts include localized flash flooding. If you see a flooded road remember to turn around, don’t drown. The condition of the road under that water is unknown and may be compromised. The NWS advises that several rounds of heavy rainfall may produce small creek, stream, and river flooding. Renewed rises on the Mississippi River are possible but how much of a rise remains uncertain.

The NWS says wet weather pattern is expected to persist, with near daily chances for showers and storms lingering into the middle of next week. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
