The Sigourney-Keota Cobras look to keep their season humming along Friday when they welcome the Wilton Beavers to town. SK comes into the game with a perfect 4-0 record on the year after wins over Pekin, Lynnville-Sully, Albia and Eddyville-Blakesburg by a combined 218-69 total. That includes their win over the Rockets last week 53-14. In that game, the Cobras finished with 569 yards on the ground, led by JD Stout with 204 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns. The Cobra defense forced four turnovers including two Brady Duwa interceptions. On the season, SK is led by Cade Molyneux through the air at eight of nine for 190 yards and four touchdowns. His favorite target is Brady Duwa with four catches for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On the ground it’s JD Stout with 799 yards on 63 carries and 11 touchdowns. Wyatt Sieren leads the SK defense with 19 and a half tackles.
Wilton comes into the game at 1-3 on the year. In the non-district portion of the schedule they fell to Durant, Mid-Prairie and Benton Community while beating Northeast Goose Lake. In their last game against the Bobcats, the Beavers were beaten by a 48-14 score. Mason Ormsby had a big day through the air going 12 of 19 for 256 yards and two touchdowns. However, the Wilton defense surrendered 513 yards of offense to the Bobcats including 339 through the air. On the year the Beavers are led by Ormsby at 40 of 69 for 522 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. His favorite target is Colby Sawvell with 22 catches for 261 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground Jackson Hull has 172 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries. Coy Baker leads the Wilton defense with 23 tackles including two for loss. These two teams met a year ago with Wilton taking a 35-0 win. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Sigourney High School.
