Six precast concrete buildings with HVAC, electrical, monitoring and control systems will be installed in Washington County for the new emergency communications radio project. At the recent Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting Supervisor Jack Seward explained a bid letting for these structures comes next, “The next step in the radio communications project is to let bids for the equipment shelters that will be at the base of each of the six towers that will be using our system.” Delivery of all of the shelters is expected to occur between the winter of 2019 and the spring of 2020. They must be fully complete by May 1, 2020.
At the recent supervisors meeting it was stated that the contract would be awarded at the next meeting, however it is not listed on the October 1st agenda. Washington County is installing a new emergency communications system along with a new building to house that equipment for a total of $11.57 million.
