As Kalona residents prepare for fall weather and yard care, KCII News reminds you to be advised of the city’s burn policy. Burn barrels are prohibited within city limits. Burn rings 24 inches or taller may be used  for burning of landscape waste outside of lawn clippings. Open burning is allowed during the months of October and November on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. All fires must be at least fifty feet from any structure or building with a working garden hose available for immediate use. Any burning falling outside of these guidelines is prohibited.
