The Highland football suffered their second straight setback Friday, falling to the No. 6 ranked BGM Bears 28-7. The Huskies had a tough time getting the ball into the end zone despite posting 342 yards of total offense. Connor Grinstead had a big night, accounting for 310 all-purpose yards including 222 through the air on seven of 13 throwing, one touchdown and one interception. Mason McFarland had four catches for 121 yards, Owen Donovan two catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. The Huskies undoing was four turnovers. The Bears rolled up 302 total yards of offense. Noah Beck had 23 carries for 171 yards and three touchdowns. Highland is now 3-2 on the year and hosts Pekin Friday.
